About Me

Welcome!

My name is Mariann Sebestyen.

I hold a B.Sc. (Hon) in Psychology with Counselling Theory and am certified in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rewind Therapy, Flash Technique, Peer Support Work, and Brainspotting.

I have worked with Rethink Mental Illness, delivering mental health workshops to university students. Additionally, I volunteered at Befriend, where I supported a client weekly, ensuring they felt less isolated and alone. Previously, I was an Assistant Practitioner at NHS Adult Community Mental Health and currently I work as an Assistant Psychologist within an NHS Trust.

I am here to help you improve self-esteem, reduce anxiety, enhance your mood, change unhealthy behaviours, set boundaries, overcome heartbreaks, and confidently move towards a new life.

Growing up in a dysfunctional family and developing C-PTSD without even knowing it led to struggles with low self-esteem, unhealthy boundaries, low mood, unhealthy eating behaviours, social anxiety, and repeatedly choosing the wrong partner.

Despite trying to help myself through books and personal development masterclasses, I couldn’t understand why nothing worked. I didn’t realize how deeply childhood trauma (C-PTSD) had impacted my life.

It was not until I started seeing my life holistically and investigating it that I found my passion. Trusting my intuition and taking that step towards my journey, I became more interested in human behaviour, psychology, epigenetics, hypnotherapy, and how trauma affects people in the short and long term.

All I wanted was to feel better and have a wonderful life.

The techniques I am trained in, along with other therapies, helped me address the root cause of my issues. As I understood how the past affected me, I was able to let it go, apply new positive affirmations and coping skills, and become much happier.

I struggled with depression and other issues, but therapy opened my eyes to what I was holding inside and trying to cope with “My Trauma.” It helped me overcome my mental problems, and now I pay more attention to my inner world, which was wounded badly. I have built up a healthy inner world with no fear or anxiety to be myself. But I had to understand it was related to the trauma and get to know who I am.

The feeling of the result is priceless. Feeling good inside is the greatest gift you can give yourself.

My life experiences helped me find my purpose and do what I love now. Being a Hypnotherapist and Practitioner in other modalities is amazing. It gives purpose to my life, and I love helping people on their transformation journey.

What I love most is that my healing journey became my unique experience. The same goes for you—your healing journey is your unique experience, and you move at your own pace and speed because there is no right or wrong. You should know exactly what works for you and what you need.

I aim to raise mental health awareness, which can help you understand your symptoms and break the mental health stigma that leaves so many people suffering in secret.

My goal is to assist you in achieving your desired outcomes, which are the reasons for changing your behaviour.
